London Raiders forward Olegs Lascenko is looking forward to coming up against his former club Bracknell Bees this weekend.

The 20-year-old winger, who spent two seasons at the Berkshire-based club, is excited for the challenge and admits they must starting stringing results together ahead of the play-offs.

“I’m looking forward to play against Bracknell, I really enjoy that rink,” Lascenko said.

“I will not be using my knowledge because I think it’s unnecessary, you can’t predict how a team will play on that day, they might have a new plan or a new strategy, you just have to go on the ice and play your game.

“Bracknell have many threats and I just think they’re overall a good team so it will be a great challenge for us.

“We only have a few games left so we have to start winning if we want to get an easier play off run to start with.”

The Romford-based club will make the trip to face Peterborough Phantoms on Saturday before making the journey to Bracknell on Sunday.

The Latvian-born forward believes they must be more aggressive against the Phantoms after suffering a 6-1 defeat to them last weekend.

“I think on that day we played soft, we didn’t have the passion and speed that we did in previous games against Peterborough.

“Against a team like them, you have to play physical and with pressure, because they are a good team, and if we give them time and space they will be deadly.

“I think we just have to start and play more aggressive hockey, give them no time and space, I believe that even great players start making mistakes when they are pressured.”
