The Lee Valley-based club lost to both Basingstoke Bison and Swindon Wildcats the weekend before and needed to get their campaign back on track.

The 28-year-old said: “It was good game for us, we had a bit of a slow start, made a couple of silly mistakes that cost us but managed to come together and get a good home win in the end with loads of goals.

“We needed to bounce back after 2 defeats and being at home it was vital that we got the win to gain momentum going into next weekend up against tough opposition.

“We also knew we needed to put on a display for our fans and I believe we did just that.”

The Raiders lost forward Jake Sylvester to a wrist injury after the youngster picked up two goals and one assist in the game.

“It’s a shame that Jake got injured,” Turner said.

“ It’s sad to see a young guy with bags of talent having a great start to a season for it to then be halted by a bad injury.”

The former Chelmsford Chieftains player admits it felt great to reach his landmark 100th goal in the gold and blue.

“Nahlik, Oleg and I have started to click.

“It felt awesome getting my 100th Raiders goal and was great that Nahlik and I managed to bag a hat trick each and with Oleg not far behind with two.

“We seemrf to find each other and it feels good to be working as a unit and getting on the score sheet.”

Michael Gray started his first match for the club after returning last week following an MCL injury to goalie Euan King who is expected to be out for several weeks.

“It was great to see Phead back in between the pipes in gold and blue,” he admitted.

“With Kinger out for a while its handy having a spare talented goalie on the cards for instances like this.

“It was important for him to get some ice time and after being out of the game for some time he doesn’t look out place, it’s like he was never away.

“Zach (Grandy-Smith) is a talented young goalie so it’s great to have both him and Phead pushing each other.”

Raiders will host Bracknell Bees on Saturday.
