Raiders returned to winning ways as Jake Sylvester netted twice on his return from injury at Lee Valley on Saturday.

Having lost at Swindon and Basingstoke the previous weekend, Raiders had Sylvester back in their line-up following his recovery from a broken wrist in October.

And the young forward did not need long to make his mark as he skated through the middle of the visiting defence and forced the puck puast Damien King inside two minutes.

Raiders doubled their lead with barely six minutes played as JJ Pitchley shot past the blocker hand of the somewhat unsighted King from close to the face-off circle and they went into the break on top after outshooting their rivals 16-5.

A high-sticking penalty against Ollie Baldock gave Dynamos a power play chance early in the middle session and they made it count through Mason Webster.

Raiders restored their two-goal cushion at the midway mark as Sylvester stuffed the puck home and it was 4-1 soon after as Alan Lack marked his return to the side by converting Pitchley’s right-wing centre with a shot on the turn.

Lack was called for an elbowing penalty in the final period and Dynamos made their extra man count again as Callum Fowler beat Michael Gray on the power play.

But Raiders had the final word as Olegs Lascenko claimed their fifth goal of the night and Juraj Huska picked up his third assist of the game.

Raiders will hope to make it back-to-back wins when they visit Streatham in the cup on Sunday (6.45pm).
