East London’s women earned a superb 3-1 win over Crostyx in their East League Division One South encounter at Lee Valley.

The visitors opened the scoring, after some near-misses, but East battled back to level through Renske Pesch.

Pesch then put the home side in front with a fine drag flick and Karen Heaney added the third from a short corner as East moved above their rivals into third place ahead of a trip to Brom & Becks on Saturday.

The seconds ran out 4-1 winners at Harpenden, with Claire Bergin bagging a brace.

Kate Hendry converted a short corner and Nicky Sevel scored with a reverse stick shot as Kirsty McLeod took the plkyer of the match honours.

The fourths went down 7-1 at Upminster thirds, with Sarah Watts getting the consolation as Charlotte Critchley impressed.

But the sixth team had a 4-0 win over Waltham Forest thirds thanks to goals from Roby Braithwaite (2), Ella Brown and Sophie Williams.

The sevenths romped to a 6-0 win over Braintree fourths as Debs White (2), Cat Kingdom, Amy Ballard, Amelia Lunning and Eimear Fitzsimons struck.

But East London’s men had to settle for a point from a goalless draw at Old Southendian, after a lacklustre display.

Goalkeeper Freddie Goddard was named man of the match for two solid one-on-one saves but East are now four points behind the leaders, with Felixstowe set to visit this weekend.

The thirds lost 2-1 at unbeaten Chelmsford seconds, despite taking the lead through Phil Knight.

But the fourths earned a 2-2 draw with Clacton, as Jordan Green cancelled out the visitors’ first goal and Dom Ellis scored a second equaliser with a deflection.

The sixth team enjoyed a 5-1 win over Old Southendian fourths to remain top of Division Seven.

Hiren Amin opened the scoring from Adam Butler’s pass, with James Lennard making it 2-0 before the visitors replied.

Jamie Rosser, Butler and Tharun Puvaneswaran found the target in the second half to secure a comfortable win.

George Clift and Wesley Manta netted as the sevenths lost 3-2 to Havering, but the eighths beat Southend thirds by the same margin to climb out of the bottom two as Zafar Butt and David Loughborough found the target.
