Craig Ratford hopes Barking can enjoy themselves under the Friday night lights when they welcome Millwall in London Three Essex this weekend.

The Gale Street club have moved their next league fixture a day forward to avoid a clash with the start of England’s opening Autumn Test against South Africa.

By bringing the Millwall game forward, it is hoped Barking will benefit from greater player availability, while there might be a few more in attendance too.

The Gale Street club will also want to snap a two-game losing streak in the league, with their latest loss coming at home Campion last Saturday.

On paper, it seems Barking may start as favourites against a Millwall side yet to win the league this term, but attack coach Ratford remains wary of the opposition.

“Whenever you come up against a team who hasn’t won, you always know it could go right for them when they face you so we have to do everything we can to make sure that’s not the case,” he said.

“After coming down from the league above, we’re there to be shot at and that is a tag we’re starting to get used to.”
