West Ham United’s home ground previously hosted five games during the 2015 Rugby World Cup

The London Stadium will host its first Aviva Premiership match on March 24 next year after Saracens confirmed they would be taking their derby clash with Harlequins to Newham.

In recent years, the fixture had been played at Wembley Stadium and has attracted huge crowds.

This season, though, will see Sarries take the game to the home ground of Premier League club West Ham United for the first time.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Saracens and look forward to welcoming their supporters for a fixture of such prestige,” said London Stadium chief executive officer Linda Harvey.

“We take immense pride in delivering a diverse calendar of events and look forward to building a strong bond with Saracens and their supporters.

“London Stadium has become synonymous with delivering great entertainment and sporting spectacles and this opportunity is one that both parties are very excited about.”

During the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the London Stadium played host to five matches, including the third-place play-off.
