Those of you looking for a gritty combat simulator will find the cheery violence of this third-person shooter distinctly underwhelming. It's as if the game's designers decided to cross Thomas the Tank Engine with Call of Duty 4 and the result is a wonderfully weird looking theatre of war populated by cartoon soldiers, tanks and planes.
Dig a little deeper though and you'll discover an action-oriented strategy game that lets you assume command of any of your military units at will. One minute you'll be leading an assault on a gun battery with one of your Rambo-like toy soldiers and the next you'll be bombing the hell out of ground troops as you take control of a bomber. The online multiplayer offers several inventive co-op modes for even more wanton destruction.
