London’s Grand Union Orchestra is to put on a Remembrance Day concert as part of the London Jazz Festival.
The Orchestra, which specialises in jazz, focuses on bringing musicians from different backgrounds together to make unique music with an international quality.
Next Sunday it is to mark the 94th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The Orchestra hopes its concert will reflect this occasion through promoting the themes of liberty and creative freedom through its music.
The event, called Liberation and Remembrance, is to take place at the Hackney Empire. It will bring together some of the UK’s best trumpet players with Bangladeshi musicians such as Yousuf Ali Khan and Ghanian Saxophonist Tony Kofi.
Appearing alongside the Grand Union Orchestra will be the next generation of musical talent in the Union’s Youth Orchestra.
The event will be held on the evening of Sunday, November 11. More information and tickets are available at www.hackneyempire.co.uk.
