National Football Museum film to feature Isle of Dogs five-a-sides

The Isle of Dogs five-a-side team are set to star in a new film exhibit, ‘Our Beautiful Game’, at The National Football Museum in Manchester.

The film aims to celebrate all levels of football across the country, and will feature the Isle of Dogs five-a-side team alongside other teams including Premiership champions Manchester City.

It aims to capture what makes football such an important part of British culture, and how the game can be enjoyed at grass roots as well as professional levels.

When making the film, Director Richard Oliver was delighted to see the crucial role football continues to play across the UK.

He said: “We went out expecting to find a broken Britain, but instead found a country totally united by its love of football.”

The National Football Museum’s Director, Kevin Moore, emphasised the importance of recogonising football at all levels, from the Premier league to the Isle of Dogs five-a-side team.

He said: “This film celebrates everything we love about the game. Football is so much more than just the game we see on the TV; it’s a part of our life, culture and passion. The film is a must see, and makes one of the great attractions for the new museum in Manchester when it opens in July.”

The film will be shown inside the new National Football Museum, which will open its doors to the public for free from Friday, July 6.
