POLICE are concerned for a missing hospital patient in need of urgent medical help who vanished in the middle of the night.
They are trying to find 40-year-old Shamin Akhtar who has not been seen since she walked out of a hospital in East London.
Shamin (pictured) was last seen leaving Newham General in Plaistow at 1am on Wednesday, wearing a hospital gown.
She is need of urgent medical attention, Scotland Yard said today.
Shamin, who is slim, 5ft 3ins tall and has black hair in a ponytail, was last seen wearing a hospital gown—but she could be wearing a lilac sari.
She lives in Stratford and was a voluntary patient at the hospital.
Police are urging anyone who sees Shamin Akhtar or knows where she may be to call the Missing Persons unit on 020-7275 5772 and get medical help immediately.
