Auditors ditched laptops and calculators for harnesses last week for an abseil down their Canary Wharf headquarters.
More than 100 KPMG workers including the firm’s deputy chair and vice chair descended 15 stories of One Canada Square on Thursday and Friday.
The company wants to raise £1 million by September 2020 as part of their partnership with the NSPCC, whose CEO, Peter Wanless, also took part.
“I was both excited and terrified to take on my first abseil down the KPMG building,” he said.
“There was a great view at the top but it felt even better once I had got to the bottom.”
Thanking those who went over the top for the children’s charity, he added: “roll on the next challenge.”
KPMG vice chair James Steward said the abseil “scared the living daylights out of me”.
The company recorded revenues of more than £2 billion in the financial year ending September 2016.
