This is the Thames foreshore where you can leave your mark for future generations—if you’re good enough.
Tideway Construction, which is building the controversial Thames ‘super sewer’ tunnel under the riverbed from Barnes to the Isle of Dogs, is looking for an artist to create works for a new public open space to help landscape the foreshore next to Wapping’s King Edward Memorial Park.
The artist would work with the design and engineering teams to develop proposals and oversee making and installing the artwork later.
Tideway is inviting applications from artists in all disciplines who are based in the East End or have a good local knowledge of Wapping—but add that “previous experience of working at scale and in three dimensions would be a benefit”. Deadline for applications is just six days away, 12 midday on Monday, December 5.
