The launch night for the reopening of Aldgate’s Three Tuns pub in the City has raised £250 for east London’s Richard House children’s hospice in Beckton to mark the pub’s reopening.

The reopening follows a £180,000 facelift which includes a revamped rooftop terrace for the busy summer trade.

“We’ve tried keeping the rustic charm our regulars know,” new manager Olivia Slater said. “But we’ve also added a liberal sprinkling of modern touches to brighten up the place.

“For me, a good pub is one which knows the local area and listens to its customers.”

The pub in Jewry Street, off Aldgate High Street, has a new “very British” food and drink policy with home products like its variety of 12 ‘Pieminister’ pies and Bermondsey craft beers added to its draught beers and local ales.
