Ex-Orient defender joins Pilgrims for new season
Former Leyton Orient left back Gary Sawyer has rejoined his first club, Plymouth Argyle, following his release from the Londoners.
The 29-year-old was let go following O’s relegation from League One last season after making 69 league apperances for the club in a three-year stint at Brisbane Road.
Sawyer joined the club in 2012 on a free transfer from Bristol Rovers and was an unused substitute in the play-off final defeat to Rotherham in 2014.
His only goal for the club came in his debut season in a 2-0 home win over Milton Keynes in 2013 and his final appearance for Orient was in a 3-1 win over Port Vale on March 28.
