Two 16-year-old boys arrested in connection with a homophobic attack on Whitechapel Road have been re-bailed to a date in mid-August.

Walter Adrian and his partner, both in their early 20s, were outside Barclays bank at 1.30am on June 13, when a group of men on bikes approached them.

They yelled insults and punched and kicked Walter and his partner, causing minor injuries which led to the launch of an investigation by Tower Hamlets detectives.

Both have been re-bailed to return in mid-August pending further enquiries.
