Scores of people fled from their homes today after a fire broke out in a Bethnal Green block of flats.
Firefighters were called to the five-storey block in Pott Street at 9.20am to tackle the blaze.
Around 40 people left the building before the two fire engines arrived and firefighters led another 10 people led to safety.
The brigade from Bethnal Green and Whitechapel was able to get the fire under control by 10.15am.
The fire damaged part of the ground floor flat, but no-one suffered any injuries.
