Hundreds of spectators turned up for this year’s Guy Fawkes display in London’s East End laid on by the local authority.
The family extravaganza put on by Tower Hamlets Council lit up the sky and entertained the crowds with a playlist of superhero theme tunes.
Among the spectators was eight-year-old Sam Evans, watching the annual fireworks for the first time with his family.
“It was brilliant!” he beamed. “I just didn’t want it to end because it was so fun!
“I didn’t know what to expect with all the different fireworks. But the music was the best bit.”
The Town Hall even laid on a viewing platform at the park entrance for those with accessibility needs.
Children’s sparklers and personal fireworks were banned in the park itself.
But spectators got a two-hour professional audio-visual display instead—with more star bursts than stars in the sky, it seemed. Guy Fawkes would have been proud
