A Shadwell photographer has been highly commended in a national competition.
Peter Anderson’s entry, entitled ‘Passing on the Faith’, captured a father and daughter at his church.
The Faith Through a Lens competition aims to capture faith in everyday life and was judged by a panel of photographic experts and representatives of faith groups.
He was presented with the award at Microsoft’s UK headquarters by photographer Don McCullin.
Peter received a prize package including state of the art photography equipment as well as £1000 worth of audio-visual or photographic kit to give to a nominated charity or group.
He chose the charity Children in Urban Situations to donate the prize package to.
Peter said: ““I’m completely stunned to have made the finalist shortlist, let alone be announced as one of the highly commended winners.
“Capturing such an intimate moment of a father and daughter was something very special.”
The competition for amateur photographers was created in 2010 by church insurer Congregational and General and has grown every year.
