Helpings of smoked salmon from London’s East End are on the menu at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Coronation diamond jubilee banquet next week, it has been revealed today.

The ‘London Cure’ fish dish processed by Forman’s smokery in Old Ford has been selected by the Palace to be served as ‘paupiette parcels’.

“It’s a ‘starter fit for a queen,” assured a company spokesman. “Buckingham Palace describes us as ‘London’s finest smokery’—why, thank you Ma’am, we are most honoured.”

Forman & Sons is east London’s oldest smoke salmon factory which has been run by the same family for well over a century—it was relocated to Fish Island on the banks of the Lea River at Old Ford from Stratford five years ago, when the Olympic Park was being laid out.
