Commuters in Tower Hamlets have been enduring travel chaos this afternoon after water from a burst pipe flooded parts of the tracks on the Central Line.
Central Line services are currently suspended between Bethnal Green and Leytonstone stations after water cascaded through a ventilation shaft in Wick Lane in Bow.
Residents at Fairfield Quarter in nearby Fairfield Road are reporting on Facebook that their block of flats has flooded and that the water is now seeping into their flats.
A Thames Water said: “We’re currently working really hard to repair a pipe that has burst in Wick Lane causing disruption to the central line.”
