Residents shared tea and cakes with visitors when they held a fundraising afternoon in their nursing home in support of a dementia charity.
The event, Time for a Cuppa, held at Hawthorn Green Nursing Home in Redman’s Road, Stepney last week, charged each visitor 1.
Cash raised will support Admiral Nurses, specialist staff who offer practical and emotional support to people affected by Alzheimer’s.
The home’s manager Rosalind Mbaki said: “Many of our residents have dementia so this is a charity which is extremely close to our hearts.”
