Police have confirmed that a teenager has been charged in connection with incidents when homophobic stickers were found at locations in the East End earlier this year.
He is Mohammed Hasnath, an 18-year-old from Blackwall, charged with a public order offence between February 11 and 14 at locations including Bow Church DLR station, two in Whitechapel and one on a bus.
Hasnath was charged by British Transport police under section 5 of the Public Order Act, citing “harassment, alarm or distress.”
He has been released on bail to attend Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 1, after being originally arrested at his home on April 20.
