MORE than 100 firefighters from across east London have been battling a blaze in a Shoreditch restaurant and office block since the early hours of this morning.
Flames tore through the four-storey block in Tabernacle Street, on the border between Shoreditch and the City, at 4am this morning.
Around 20 fire engines, including those from Bethnal Green and Whitechapel fire stations are still at the scene as billows of smoke can be seen across the City.
The roads around the burning block, between Epworth Street and Leonard Street have been closed off.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said the cause of the fire was still unknown.
