A JOBS fare is being organised to help tackle East London's dole queue, one of the worst unemployment rates in the South East.

The 'Routes in to Employment' fair is being staged at Bethnal Green's famous York Hall next Thursday (Feb 4), bringing those without work face-to-face with 25 major employers and training agencies.

Jobseekers can find out about opportunities with the Met Police, London Fire and Ambulance services, Red Cross, Royal Navy, Canary Wharf Group, NHS, security firms and even the Prison service. Also taking part are graduate recruitment agencies. Job vacancies and training courses are being listed and career advice is being offered.

All jobs seekers are being invited, but organisers say registration of name, phone number and job interests is needed by email here or calling 020-7987 5833.

The February 4 jobs fair on at York Hall in Old Ford Road, corner of Cambridge Heath Road (one minute from Bethnal Green Central Line Underground station), runs 11am to 5pm.
