STRICTLY Come Dancing star Jo Wood joined East End students went to Downing Street today to campaign against sweatshop fashion.
The rock chick, who used to be married to Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood and who appeared on this year's series on the BBC1 dance show, accompanied pupils from Mulberry School for Girls to Number 10 where they handed over a huge T-shirt showing pictures of some of the 16,000 people behind their campaign.
Jo was shocked by garment workers' hardship when she visited Bangladesh with fair trade fashion company and campaign backer People Tree.
Pupils Nabila Bakar, Amine Aras and Nishat Tasnim, all 14, came to Downing Street from the school in Whitechapel which recently hosted a model United Nations conference on child labour and sweatshops after students backed the campaign.
The Love Fashion Hate Sweatshops campaign, organised by the charity War on Want, is the biggest-ever call for the British government to stop retailers, including supermarkets, exploiting overseas workers in developing countries.
Last week the charity's research showed that workers making Primark clothes in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka toil up to 84 hours a week and can earn as little as 19 a month - less than half a living wage.
