TWO-thirds of the homes for sale in East London's massive St Andrew's development have now been sold since the scheme went on the market in June, the developers announced today.
An average of four sales a week has been completed by Barratt East London even before they are finished, with 63 of the 98 available in the first phase now sold.
Building work is well under way on the site of the former Victorian St Andrew's Hospital at Bromley-by-Bow, less than a mile from the 2012 Olympics site, with the first completions due in March.
It is one of the largest single schemes started in London this year, which has been undertaken by Barratt's in partnership with the Homes & Communities Agency, London Development Agency, Tower Hamlets Council and Circle Anglia housing group.
Nearly 1,000 homes will eventually make up the huge complex, including 410 for social rent to help ease the East End's chronic housing waiting list.
