AN END of summer fair will draw attention to a long-running campaign against the death penalty.
Amnesty International's Tower Hamlets and City group is putting on a day of entertainment including music from UK hip hop act Queens English, poet and folk punk hero Babar Luck, East London Late Starters Orchestra, Mr Hovis & Band and DJ K-Questa.
There will also be hot food, cream teas, a tombola and a book and plant sale at the fair at Christchurch Gardens, Commercial Street in Spitalfields which starts at 12 noon and runs to 6pm on Sunday September 13.
The festival aims to get people to support Amnesty International's long running campaign opposing the death penalty.
Amnesty's Tower Hamlets and City group's campaigns include supporting and demanding a fair retrial for Hakamada Iwao, 73, who has spent the last 40 years on death row in Japan, including 28 years in solitary confinement, for a murder he claims he did not commit.
