A 19-year-old girl from the East End is among 20 volunteers starting work for the Olympic organisers today.
Rebecca McKenzie, a law student from Bow, will be working one day a week as an assistant to the legal team at the London 2012 Headquarter in Canary Wharf.
The volunteers are the second intake of recruits for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
They will take up a range of support roles including helping to manage the Olympic Park Tour programme, assisting the branding and marketing team, and supporting the editorial services team in updating web content, the image library and film archives.
