FAMILIES from a tower block in London’s East End had to be evacuated after smoke seeped into the building when fire broke out in a rubbish shoot.
Corridors on the third and fourth floors at Stepney’s Latham House in Chudleigh Street were smoke-logged. Other floors were also affected, including the 15th and 16th storeys.
Families were allowed back after the high-rise block had been ventilated. There was no structural damage from last night’s fire.
