A MAN has appeared in court in East London today (Thursday) accused of fraud and money laundering.
It follows a police investigation into hundreds of complaints from members of the public, Scotland Yard confirmed tonight.
He is Mohammed Faruk Ahmed, a 41-year-old from Brick Lane, Spitalfields, who appeared before Thames magistrates charged with fraud by false representation and money laundering under the 2002 Proceeds of Crimes Act. He was remanded in custody until April 2.
