The girls from two Tower Hamlets schools were finding out about careers for women in the traditionally male-dominated construction industry.
Three pupils from Mulberry Secondary in Shadwell and three from Central Foundation Girls School at Mile End visited Bouygues UK’s Waterloo head office where they met woman employees including deputy Engineering director Catherine Toron, senior project manager Masume Hidayatullah and Environment manager Sylvie Vulin.
The girls were then taken on a tour of Bethnal Green Technology College, one of the first schools in the East End benefiting from a �240 million Tower Hamlets council schools modernisation programme, where rebuilding and refurbishment work has just begun.
