TRADERS can now book a stall for Europe's biggest Mela festival taking place in London's East End.
The Banglatown Mela parade in Brick Lane celebrating the Bengali New Year is on May 10, with the carnival continuing in Weavers Fields park and Allen Gardens nearby.
The colourful procession includes the Tiger Out East, musicians and dancers. Children are also included in the parade.
Pitches are available for catering, retail food, ice cream vans, arts and crafts, goods, voluntary groups and charities, the organisers announced today.
Stall hire applications are now available online from Tower Hamlets council, with forms returned by April 17.
The authority is setting up an independent trust to manage the Banglatown Mela following disputes in previous years involving rival organisations and has been appealing for anyone with experience of running public events to join it.
