O’s cruise as County boss Ince sees red

Leyton Orient 2 Notts County 0

ORIENT manager Russell Slade makes three changes to the side that lost to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Defender Ben Chorley is suffering with a knee injury, so Elliot Omozusi comes into the back four.

Fit-again Matthew Spring returns to midfield and Harry Kane starts up front after coming back from a one-game ban.

Scott McGleish and Jason Crowe drop to the bench.

Here’s the action:

2 mins – Almost an embarrassing moment for Orient’s Matt Spring, as he over hits a back pass and keeper Jamie Jones has to scramble back and slide the ball off the line.

8 mins – Great start for the O’s as they take the lead after a good build up. Skipper Stephen Dawson sets up Tommy Carroll and he chips a delightful ball over the visiting defence for Dean Cox to run on to and fire home from eight yards.

22 mins – Cox almost strikes again after cutting in from the left and firing a shot inches past the post.

25 mins – O’s are playing some great football and Alex Revell almost adds a second, but is denied by former O’s keeper Stuart Nelson, now playing at Notts County.

29 mins – It’s County keeper Nelson to the rescue again, as he tips away a shot by Cox.

43 mins – Notts County manage their first real effort as Ivan Sproule fires in a shot from 25 yards, that Jones tips around the post

44 mins – The visitors finish the half strongly and Jones saves from Craig Westcarr.

Half-time – Orient 1 Notts County 0. A half O’s dominated and they may regret not making more of the possession and chances that came their way.

48 mins – O’s start well and Harry Kane fires in a cross from the left, but Alex Revell just can’t get a touch to slide it into the net.

53 mins – Tommy Carroll sends Alex Revell clear and he rounds Nelson before shooting at goal. But Ricky Ravenhill races back and slides in to clear off the line, but the ball hits his hand. The assistant flags for a penalty kick and the game is held up for four minutes as County protest. County boss Paul Ince is sent to the stands and finally Revell takes the kick. But Nelson dives to his left and makes a superb save.

59 mins – The game is starting to boil and Revell almost atones with a header from a Daniels cross that’s cleared off the line.

63 mins – Notts County hit back and Charlie Daniels blocks a goalbound effort from Neal Bishop.

66 mins – Craig Westcarr flashes a header just wide of the post.

67 mins – Sam Sodje replaces Krystian Pearce for County and Jonathan Tehoue comes on for Harry Kane.

80 mins – O’s have survived a tricky period and look to have wrapped the game up with a second goal. Cox was the provider with a free-kick from the left and defender Andrew Whing is the unlikely goal hero with a diving header.

81 mins – Scott McGleish replaces Alex Revell

83 mins – Paul-Jose M’Poku comes on for Dean Cox.

90 mins – Referee Grant Hegley signals seven minutes of stoppage time.

92 mins – M’Poku fires wide after a good run.

Full-time – Orient 2 Notts County 0. Plenty of drama. Whing finally made the game safe to give O’s the win they deserved in a second half that saw Alex Revell miss a penalty and County manager Paul Ince sent to the stands.
