Chorley looks forward to a big day at Norwich

ORIENT defender Ben Chorley is relishing Saturday’s FA Cup clash at Norwich where he will come face-to-face with in-form striker Grant Holt.

Norwich, who won promotion from League One last season, are currently third in the Championship and are knocking on the Premier League door.

And Holt, who smashed 30 goals last season, already has 12 to his name this term.

The Norwich hitman managed just one goal against the O’s last season, scoring the second when City hit Orient with a late barrage in a 4-0 win at Carrow Road.

Chorley, the star of the show in the 4-2 win against Colchester on Monday, can’t wait for the weekend clash as O’s look to spring a surprise and he admitted. “It’s going to be a big day.

“Quite a few of our team have played at Norwich before. We know a few of their boys from their League One days last season.

“It will be a great atmosphere. I’m sure there will be about 25,000 and they always make a big noise.”

Norwich’s rise up the Championship table has caught most people on the hop.

“They are really flying high and they have surprised me so much this season,” said the O’s defender.

“It will be a great experience for some of our players who haven’t been there before and for those of us who have, we know it’s going to be a tough game.”

Chorley has played with a number of partners at the heart of the rearguard this season and could be reunited with Terrell Forbes at the weekend, as the experienced defender has at long last completed a three-game ban.

“If the manager decides to go with ‘T’ (Terrell Forbes) we will be back together,” admitted the 28-year-old former Tranmere Rovers and MK Dons defender.

“I like playing with him, one big and one small. He’s quick and I like to go and win things and be aggressive. I think it works well.”

Aaron Brown and Elliot Omozusi have also played at the heart of the rearguard with Chorley and he continued. “I’ve played with three or four different partners this season and have enjoyed it with all of them. Whatever way the manager wants to go, I’ll be ready for it.” he said.
