Foxes boss has been absent from the touchline for the last three weeks

Ilford manager Allan Fenn is looking forward to his side’s Essex Senior League fixture against Wadham Lodge on Saturday.

Fenn returns to the dugout after a three-week absence because of a variety of reasons, including a one-game touchline ban.

“I’m looking forward to the game on Saturday, the league has kind of knocked us so far and we are playing catch up,” said the Foxes chief.

“We are six games behind the teams around us and I think we have just got to take every game as it comes.”

The Ilford boss manager would have been able to take charge of his side last weekend had their game the previous week against Waltham Forest not been called off due to bad weather.

That pushed his one-game ban back a week and Fenn admits he can’t wait to return.

“I can’t wait; it will be my first in three weeks because of the game that was called off last week,” he added.

“I live for football, and it’s difficult when you do all of the training and match preparation, but you are not there on a Saturday to oversee it.”

Opponents Wadham Lodge sit in 18th position in the league, five places below the Foxes, and are not in the best of form.

Fenn admits he expected Saturday’s opponents to be higher position and that they are one of his favourites in the league, behind Ilford of course.

“Wadham is a brilliantly run club, I have huge respect for the club and Martin and Sharon Rowan for their work there,” he said.
