The body of a missing 19-year-old man has been pulled from river in the Olympic Park.
Last week police issued an appeal for Stratford man Hamid Sharifi, who was last seen on Tuesday, saying they were becoming “increasingly concerned” about his welfare.
At 4.45pm yesterday police were called to reports of a dead body in the River Lea, near Honour Lea Avenue.
Formal identification is yet to take place but officers believe the body to be that of Hamid.
A police spokeswoman said: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained and at this time it is not thought to be suspicious.”
His next of kin have been informed.
