Davis draws positives from comeback

London Bari manager Chris Davis feels his side should have taken all three points against Essex Senior League rivals Sporting Bengal on Saturday.

The hosts came from 2-0 down for a share of the spoils, with Joel Appiah netting in the 84th minute and substitute Kingsley Davidson equalising four minutes later.

But Davis said: “I feel we should have won the game after coming back so strongly late on, but we will take every point we can because we are on a very bad run of form at the moment.

“It was a good point and hopefully we can regroup and carry the momentum on as we have had a very bad October and November.”

Bari have only managed to take five points from a possible 33 since the start of October and host eighth-placed Waltham Forest tomorrow night (Wednesday).

Davis knows it will be a hard game for his team, but feels their “mindset to win” will help his inexperienced squad get a result.

“With only two first team regulars out, I think we will have a strong enough bunch to compete against Waltham Forest, but the team won’t be experienced and that’s what is behind our bad form,” he added.

Bari had a complete overhaul of players within a few weeks of starting the season and it has proved a headache for the boss, who said: “Ten of our players from the beginning of the season are not at the club anymore.

“We have a totally different squad to when we started the season; we’re going through a transition period with a few injuries.”

Junior Decker was injured against Basildon last week, while Mustapha Sanda has been out since the end of September and is still a couple of weeks away from playing.

But Davis is confident their game will go ahead, even if there has to be a pitch inspection at the Old Spotted Dog to confirm it.
