Substitute scores 14 times in second half

UEL’s women romped to a stunning 40-0 win over University College London in their latest outing this week.

The squad went into the match on the back of a comfortable 8-0 victory at Hertfordshire, when the notable absence from their starting line-up of Rinsola Babajide, who was playing for England under-19s in Belfast, proved not a factor.

The frantic intensity that UEL began this game with simply epitomised the team’s recent form, with Otisha Charles netting an early hat-trick to set the tone for the rest of the match.

After 20 minutes, with the score at 4-0, UEL decided to up the pace and took their goal tally into double figures in the space of the next 15 minutes.

and when the referee blew his whistle for half-time, UEL were already up by a staggering 15 goals.

The second half saw the introduction of striker Babajide and almost instantly she tucked away three goals for a quickfire hat-trick.

Babajide went on to finish the game with a grand total of 14 goals and several assists to her name, while team-mate Charles also finished in double figures with 10 goals.

A notable mention must also go to left-back Daisy Davis who bagged her first hat-trick during the thrashing.

Having beaten UCL 24-0 just two weeks earlier, UEL underlined their status as a team of formidable goalscorers in this latest success in the cup.

A special mention must be made of UCL’s sportsmanship, as they continued the game in a professional manner regardless of the score.
