Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with the death of a 17-year-old boy found stabbed in Mile End last month.

Shea Gordon was one of two teenage boys found with stab wounds in Lichfield Road in the early hours of September 4.

Police discovered the boys after being called to reports of "a disturbance involving a large number of people" just before 00.10am.

Shea later died in hospital, but the second boy's condition was not life-threatening.

Police said they have arrested four 17-year-olds in connection with Shea's death and that the quartet are being held at east London police stations.

The latest arrests come after another 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder last month.

Det Ch Insp Mark Rogers, from the Met’s specialist crime command, said: “Despite having made a number of arrests in this investigation, I continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

“Shea’s family are being supported as they try to come to terms with their loss, but only information can really bring them the answers they so desperately need about what happened to him and why."

Anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has captured footage or images, are asked to call the Major Incident Room on 020 8345 3715, giving the reference Operation Wildcast.
