Stormzy will headline All Points East festival in Victoria Park next year.

The rapper has teamed up with Luno for its 2023 event and will curate a day of artists on August 18.

It has been dubbed This Is What We Mean Day after Stormzy’s third album This Is What I Mean, set to be released on November 25.

During the announcement video, Stormzy said: “I was thinking what’s next, cos we’ve done three O2s, shut that down.

“I said to the team, we’ve got to do something bigger, something better, something different.

“We were having back-to-back meetings, bouncing ideas.

“Then it hit me. I started jotting down ideas thinking - live band, need a live band. August 2023, a summertime thing, outside, for the people, always for my people.

“So August 2023, Victoria Park, more info coming soon."

Stormzy’s This Is What I Mean album includes single Hide and Seek produced by PRGRSHN and P2J, with vocals from British singer Äyanna and Nigerian singers Oxlade and Teni.

The album was reportedly inspired by Osea Island – a remote island in the Essex estuary that is only accessible via a Roman causeway for four hours a day at low tide.

All Points East’s was born four years ago, and has since won awards, including Q Magazine's Festival Of The Year in 2019.

Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, Tame Impala, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds were among those headlining the 2022 event.

It works with Tower Hamlets Council each year to host a programme of activities and entertainment alongside the local community, businesses, organisations and suppliers.

In previous years, this has included eco-friendly creative workshops, free yoga sessions, street food, open-air movie nights and themed drag shows.

All Points East also works with local charity Tower Project to give volunteer opportunities to young people with learning disabilities and autism, and was awarded gold by Attitude is Everything’s Charter of Best Practice for deaf and disabled music fans.
