Schools across Tower Hamlets have made alternative provisions today (December 12), following yesterday's heavy snowfall.

Icy conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow morning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for London and southeast England. 

Snow and icy conditions are expected to result in difficult travel today and into Tuesday.

Below is a list of Tower Hamlets schools that have announced, either on their websites or social media, that they are shut.

  • Bishop Challoner Boys' School
  • Bishop Challoner Girls' School
  • Bow School (closed to Years 10, 11, 12 and 13)
  • Langdon Park School (closed to Years 10, 11, 12 and 13)
  • Morpeth School (started early at 11am and finishing early at 2.50pm)
  • St Edmund's Catholic School
  • Stepney All Saints Church of England Secondary School
