Two people were taken to hospital after being rescued from the water in Poplar.
Firefighters raced to the scene to rescue the two men and one woman who needed help at Hero Quay on Thursday, February 9.
The Brigade's Fire Rescue Unit crews used water rescue equipment and were assisted by the Police Marine Unit and London Ambulance Hazard Area response team.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.02pm on Thursday, February 9 to reports of a person in the water near Heron Quays, Canary Wharf.
"We sent a number of resources including three ambulance crews, an incident response officer and our hazardous area response team.
"We treated three people at the scene who had been rescued from the water.
"We took two people to hospital and discharged the third patient at the scene."
The London Fire Brigade was called at 6.07pm and the incident over by 6.58pm.
Two fire engines from Poplar, Millwall fire stations and a fire rescue unit from Bethnal Green attended the scene.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson added: "The best thing you can do if you see someone in difficulty in the water is to call 999, try to give an exact location about where you are and keep your eyes on the last spot you saw them.
"If you go into the water to rescue people, pets or belongings, you could be putting yourself at risk as well."
