A man’s death in east London is believed to be “not suspicious” by police.

Officers were called at 6.37am on Thursday (August 10) to reports of an unresponsive person on the bus in Heron Quay.

An ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer were deployed by London Ambulance Service.

A man in his 50s was treated by medics but despite their best efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are working to confirm his identity and inform his next of kin.

A spokesperson for Met Police has said his death is being treated as unexpected, though early indications suggest “it is not suspicious”.

Road closures remain in place.
