Police have confirmed that the death of a man found in Regents Canal is not being treated as suspicious. 

The body of a man believed to be in his 50s was pulled from the canal on October 11 after police received reports of a body in the water.

Forensics at Regents Canal Limehouse after body found

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 07:11hrs on Wednesday, 11 October to reports of a body in the water in the Regents Canal near Turners Road in Limehouse E14.

"The body of a man believed to be aged in his 50s was recovered from the water."

"The death is not being treated as suspicious but further investigations continue, led by the Central East Command Unit."

A special post-mortem examination was due to take place on Monday (October 16) and his cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
