A girl, 14, has been pronounced dead after falling from a tower block near Canary Wharf.

Police confirmed today (December 14) that a teenage girl, 14, died yesterday (December 13) after falling from a block of high-rise flats in Tower Hamlets.

The force had been called to The Quarterdeck estate in the Isle of Dogs, Tower Hamlets, on Monday (December 11) at around 5pm.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) parademics attended with police before the girl was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, but she passed away on Wednesday.

Officers will work with the coroner to establish more details, police said.

The girl's family have been informed, police added, as they attempt to establish the full circumstances around the death.

Police said that the girl's family have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
