Three men are due to appear in court charged with importing cocaine after the drug was found in shipments of bananas.

Two shipments of bananas were seized by UK Border Force as they arrived at Portsmouth International Port from the Dominican Republic on Saturday January 20 and Friday January 26.

Officers searched the shipments and discovered the drugs hidden within the cardboard packaging.

Metropolitan Police specialist crime officers worked around the clock to gather further evidence and their investigations led them to an address in Acton.
