Duckett Street Stepney Green stabbing: Man fighting for life

A man is in a critical condition after a stabbing in Stepney Green. 

A crime scene remains in place after police and the London Ambulance Service were dispatched to Duckett Street at 1.50pm today (March 8). 

The Met Police have confirmed the victim of the stabbing is believed to be a nineteen-year-old man who is now in hospital with critical injuries. 

Police are yet to make an arrest.

The incident forced the temporary closure of nearby mosque The Stepney Shahjalal Mosque & Cultural Centre. 

Police are carrying out enquiries and have asked anyone with information to call 101 or contact them on 'X' @MetCC quoting CAD 3741/8Mar. 

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via the independent charity Crimstoppers on 0800 555 111.

The London Ambulance Service has been contacted for a comment.
