Streaming service giant Netflix has a brand new documentary film arriving on the platform soon focused on Wembley Stadium.

The Final: Attack on Wembley recounts the day of the 2020 Euro final which saw Gareth Southgate's England team take on Italy.

Hoping to win England's first major football success since the World Cup final of 1966, the nation and the team were preparing for a historic event.

However, as the day arrived and England supporters arrived at Wembley, the day of celebrations began to turn into chaos.

What led was riots and fans storming into the stadium that put the football match at risk, now Netflix has returned to the day.

The Euro's final in July 2021 was for the 2020 event but due to the Covid lockdown was pushed back a year.

Taking place after many months of restrictions, the Wembley event was one of the first of its kind that saw tens of thousands of people gathered in one spot for months.

England fans had travelled from all over the nation with tickets to the match and many more without tickets hoping to enjoy celebrations.

However, as the Netflix film, Attack on Wembley shares, the day was overtaken with "scenes of drunkenness and drug-taking" as well as many ticketless fans.

Videos on the day, showed fans climbing over railings and pushing their way through security in hopes to storm the stadium seeing 53 arrested and 19 officers injured at Wembley.

The film is set to have "compelling first-hand testimony and visceral user-generated content" that will help explore the "dramatic story of a day that began with euphoria, and ended in a nation left reeling."
