Michelin Guide 2025: Da Terra, Bethnal Green has two Michelin stars

The guide showcases some of the best restaurants across Britain.

Within this list is Da Terra, located in Bethnal Green inside the Grade II-listed Town Hall Hotel in Patriot Square.

It was opened in January 2019 by chef Rafael Cagali after he had gained experience in restaurants around the world and deemed it time to open up his own.

According to the restaurant, Da Terra offers "continually evolving, elegant dishes that masterfully blend the richness of the finest ingredients with its chef’s international experience and his Brazilian and Italian roots.

"Guests are welcomed on arrival from the dedicated street entrance to its private lounge, allowing time to relax and unwind.

"Here, mid-century modern furniture is complimented by a growing collection of curated Brazilian art and native artefacts."

On top of being awarded two Michelin stars, Da Terra was named Squaremeal No.1 Restaurant in London in 2023 as well as seventh in the National Restaurant Awards top 100 UK restaurants in 2024.

It added: "Taken from the Italian phrase meaning 'from the earth', Da Terra connects ingredients, nature and people, melding Rafael’s international experience working at the pinnacle of fine dining with the nostalgia of his Brazilian roots and Italian heritage.

"Through Da Terra, he delivers this in a joyful sensory journey, providing one of the most exciting, gastronomic dining experiences in London."
