The debut of Lido Festival's In The Neighbourhood programme is set to bring four days of free activities to Victoria Park.

Running from Monday, June 9, to Thursday, June 12, the event offers a variety of activities for all ages, from sport and fitness sessions to theatre shows and food and drink.

The festival is free to access, with the site open between the weekend music festival days.

The Lido Festival is a new addition to London’s summer calendar, and the In The Neighbourhood programme is being run in collaboration with Tower Hamlets Council.

The event is set to take place between the weekends of music at August’s All Points East festival.

For children, there are football sessions with West Ham FC Foundation, cricket hosted by Lord’s, hockey skills with Wapping Kidds, and non-contact boxing workshops hosted by Limehouse Boxing Academy.

These activities are designed to promote physical health and mental wellbeing.

Live theatre shows from Half Moon, a small-scale young people’s venue and touring company, will also be on offer.

Based in Whitechapel, Half Moon provides young people from birth to 18 (25 for young people with disabilities) with the opportunity to experience theatre, both as participants and audience members.

Tamarind Theatre, based in Tower Hamlets, will also be performing.

The theatre company's performances combine music, song, movement, and audience interaction, focusing on Bangladeshi and other cultures with a global inclusive outlook.

Captain Fantastic Wellbeing Stage Sessions, specialists in children’s entertainment, will also be bringing their work to the festival.

Their mindfulness stage shows are designed to help children develop resilience, tolerance, wellbeing, and confidence.

Adults can watch live music performances and DJ sets while enjoying street food and drinks after work.

All food and drink will be provided by local groups and businesses.

Fitness sessions will also be available, with OpenMat Pilates offering a 45-minute full-body pilates experience under the Big Top.

Strong Mums Club will also be hosting sessions in the Big Top.

The club specialises in postnatal strength training, offering progressive strength training programmes for new mums and their babies.

Hackney Baby Sensory sessions, filled with bubbles, lights, music, and other magical moments, will be available, along with adventure babies sessions for toddlers.

The Tower Hamlets over 50s tea dance will also be taking place in the park, with refreshments provided free of charge by Age UK East London.

The festival's headliners for the massive weekend concerts include Massive Attack (Friday, June 6), Jamie xx (Saturday, June 7), Outbreak Fest (Friday, June 13), Charli XCX’s own party girl festival (Saturday, June 14), and London Grammar (Sunday, June 15).

Named after Victoria Park’s Lido Field, the ten-day event will also offer hand-picked music line-ups with a strong focus on sustainability and community events during the week.

More headliners, full line-ups, and programmes are to be announced.
